Britton Timbers is committed to protecting and maintaining the privacy, accuracy and
security of your personal information.
We will only collect information relevant to our business relationship with you and
such information will be collected by lawful and fair means and wherever possible
will be collected directly from you.
The type of personal information we collect may include your name, address, telephone
number, email address, bank account details, trade referee details and credit history.
We will only collect personal information about you that is necessary to perform our
functions and activities. If you do not provide this information, we may not
be able to deal with you, or provide you with our products or services.
Your personal information may be used for purposes such as

performing internal administration activities such as accounting, record keeping and
archiving;

fulfilling our legal obligations (for example, disclosure to law enforcement agencies
or the courts).

modification or disclosure. We will not retain your information for any longer
than it is required by us, except to fulfil our legal obligations.
You have a right to access your personal information, subject to some exceptions allowed
by law. If you would like to do so, please let us know. You may be required
to put your request in writing and we will need to verify your identity before giving
you access. Depending on the complexity of your request, we may charge a fee
for processing the request, however any such fees charged will be reasonable taking
into account the research or preparation time required to meet your requirements.
You may request corrections to personal information we hold about you and we will
take reasonable steps to make such corrections. We will provide reasons for
denial of access or a refusal to correct personal information.
We will not adopt as an identifier of your information any identifier that has been
assigned by a Commonwealth government agency such as a tax file number or pension
number. Under the Act, it is permissible to use your name and or ABN as identifiers.
Generally it is not possible for us to do business with you unless we have identified
you however, wherever it is lawful and practical to do so, we may offer you the opportunity
to deal with us anonymously, for example when you make a general inquiry abut products
or services we offer, or when effecting a cash sale.
We will not send personal information outside Australia unless it is necessary to
complete a contract in your interest or we are authorized to do so by law.
We do not generally collect sensitive information about individuals however we may
do so if the collection is required by law or necessary for the establishment, exercise
or defence of a legal or equitable claim.
From time to time this policy may be reviewed and updated as required. A copy
of the most current policy is available on request.
